Decision:

The tender process was co-ordinated by the Council’s Commissioning and Procurement team through a two-stage tender process. The first stage Pre-Qualification Questionnaire was carried out via Suffolk County Council’s sourcing E-tendering system in December 2020. The PQQ submission was January 2021, and five contractors were selected to go through to the second price-based tender process. Tender returns were received in February 2021 and the tender remains open for acceptance until 14th May 2021.

Reasons for the decision:

Award of demolition contract to enable the site to be cleared so that archaeological investigations can be carried out, prior to the development of 16 affordable dwellings. The site gained full planning approval in July 2020

Alternative options considered:

Two stage tender process carried out to award demolition contract. Demolition and clearance of the Council owned land at Paddock House, Eye enables enable archaeological investigations to be carried out prior to procuring a main contractor to deliver the affordable housing and implement the planning permission.
