Suffolk Coast and Heaths was designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1970 with the purpose of conserving and enhancing the area’s habitats and biodiversity. The Partnership provides a lead on key issues that affect Suffolk Coast and Heaths’ future as well as providing guidance, advice, and information on a range of topics, providing grants, encouraging volunteering, and creating guides to encourage sustainable visiting.
